Facts about the Siamese Cat
1) Siamese cats originated from South East Asia -
2) Siamese cats are classified as Shorthaired.
3) Siamese come in a variety of point colour namely, Seal, Blue, Chocolate and Lilac
as the 4 primary colours, then you get the variants e.g. The Red and Cream point,
all of which are also in Tabby, Tortie and Bi-
4) Their coat is short, silky and shiny
5) The body of the Siamese cat is tubular, slim and elegant, muscular body, long legs and a long tail
6) The eyes are almond shaped, oriental and a vivid blue
7) The head is triangular in shape, big ears that are well set apart, a straight profile and a strong chin
8) Their adult weight is between 2.5kg to 5.5kg
9) Siamese cats are very talkative, active, playful, affectionate and outgoing. They are friendly and very intelligent. They do not like to be alone for too long.
10) They are child friendly but prefer children over the age of 6
11) Siamese cats are animal friendly but would rather prefer the company of humans.
12) Siamese love a warm and comfortable home. They do get a bit cold during winter so love to curl up on a blanket or close to a heat source. They love a home where people are present most of the time
13) Siamese cats do not need special grooming, just a few strokes a day is fine and the occasional gentle brushing to remove dead hair.
14) Siamese cats love to eat almost anything but make sure they have access to a health balanced diet
15) Siamese cats, like every other pedigree cat, do have some hereditary issues, so watch out for Gingivitis and remember to spay or neuter your Siamese as this will avoid many other health issues.
